Our Impact
Rebound exists to help families break cyclic trauma because we know that trauma impacts life outside the home as much as it impacts lives inside the home. We know that healing from generational trauma also affects every part of a person’s life, inside and outside of the house. Healthy families lead to healthy communities.
Having support in your neighborhood can positively affect the culture of your community as a whole. Nonprofit organizations such as Rebound Families can unite community members to meet a common goal for the common good, regardless of background, race, or gender. When a community comes together to pursue a cause, it fosters feelings of love and belonging and a sense of value among people in marginalized communities who might not always feel supported. Building resilient and trauma-informed communities is essential to improving communities and families who have experienced trauma. No community is safe from the potential impact of unexpected traumatic events. But by being trauma-informed, they can become a safe place for those recovering from distressing events.
Communities can be resilient if they have the right resources available. Unfortunately, resources may not always be available. There may be barriers that can prevent those in a community from accessing resources when they need them. These may include cost, lack of transportation, and availability of resources.
Rebound Families offer free services where individuals can attend support training and reach out to find resources available in their area. Rebound Families strives to assist with a trauma-informed approach to ensure people experiencing trauma receive care that promotes healing and avoids re-traumatization. Communities that work together to make these resources available to those in need can improve the resiliency of community members.
